Complete Western spur development
Custom Western Spurs and Rowel Assemblies
Commission a Western spur with the band, shank, rowel and fixing designed as one assembly. We manufacture from customer drawings and support your logo. Bring the boot fit, wheel profile and retention details together, then agree the complete sample and any separate spare parts. Your collection can carry a distinct appearance without leaving the working connections undefined.

Choose the Band and Shank Before the Ornament
Give the wheel and fixing the same attention as the band. Relia manufactures Western spurs and accepts your drawings and logo. We check materials, dimensions, appearance and moving-part or assembly fit, keeping the rowel, axle and retention arrangement tied to the product and any agreed spare lines.
Keep band, shank and terminal together as you choose the starting form. The 25-8317 combines a 1-3/4-inch shank, 1/2-inch band and ten-point rowel. Mark the changes on your own drawing so the proposed boot fit, rear space and wheel arrangement remain part of one custom product.

Draw the Rowel as an Assembly
A wheel outline is only part of the rear assembly. Give the rowel its own drawing and show how it sits between the shank supports, with the axle and retention arrangement identified. The complete design can then be reviewed as connected parts rather than a band with an unspecified wheel added.
| Part | Describe | Connect to |
|---|---|---|
| Rowel | Profile, diameter, thickness and centre opening | Axle and available shank space |
| Shank | Length, direction and fork/support geometry | Band and rowel envelope |
| Axle | Geometry and actual seating arrangement | Support spacing and rowel opening |
| Retention | The proposed fixing components and access | Assembly and any intended servicing |
Separate Boot Fit from Rear Assembly Space
Your boot reference controls the band and strap junctions. The rear assembly needs its own clearances around the rowel and supporting parts. Keeping the two maps separate lets you change the band for a boot range without silently changing the wheel, shank or attachment design.
Band opening, heel shape and intended seated position.
Button or slot geometry and the complete proposed strap route.
Rowel profile, support spacing and the defined component arrangement.
Name the Retention Parts Individually
The product range lists both SS Cotter Pin and SS Pin For Spur Rowel entries. These are useful component references, with the exact fit still belonging to the assembly drawing. For a serviceable project, identify the intended removal and refitting arrangement before choosing the sample contents.

Review Structural and Decorative Work Separately
The band and shank drawing determines the applicable forming and any machining or welding work. The rowel, axle and retention parts retain their own mating geometry before polishing, surface treatment and final assembly. Decorative operations and logo placement follow a separate surface brief on that structural base.
We verify materials and dimensions, inspect appearance and check moving parts and assembly fit. Compare the finished band opening, rear support space, wheel and retention arrangement with the complete drawing. Keep the agreed spare references and supplied units tied to that same version, so servicing and decoration changes remain visible rather than hidden within a familiar spur name. Review our rowel assembly and band fit checks with the agreed drawing.
- Structure
Define material allocation, component geometry and connected parts.
- Surface and identity
Mark finish areas, decorative intent and logo location.
- Combined sample
Review the finished assembly with the artwork on the agreed version.
Keep Service Parts Tied to One Assembly Revision
For a collection with planned spares, name the rowel and retention components against the same band-and-shank version. An order for spare wheels needs its own quantity unit and included-parts list. The rowel and pin selection guide provides the supporting component discussion.
| Order line | Identify | State the supply unit |
|---|---|---|
| Complete product | Band, shank, rowel, fixings and any straps | One spur or an agreed pair |
| Rowel spares | Exact rowel drawing and compatible assembly revision | Individual wheel or agreed pack |
| Retention spares | Named pin or cotter arrangement | Individual component or defined set |
Use a Clear Rowel Profile for the Sample
A profile drawing and a close view make the rowel decision easier to discuss. The product range distinguishes pointed, blunt and cloverleaf forms rather than treating all wheels as interchangeable. Select the intended form and its assembly geometry together; appearance alone does not establish a riding or contact result.

Keep the Product and Artwork on One Release Record
A useful sample response separates accepted geometry, accepted appearance and remaining changes. Mark those decisions against the same drawing and artwork revisions. We can then discuss the complete product, any service parts, quantities and destination as a defined custom programme.
