Practical sourcing guide

Horse Feeding and Play Balls by Body Construction

Choose feeding and play balls by what the body needs to do. Compare a perforated or lattice form around its filling and openings; choose a closed handled form around the body and grip. Keep those constructions separate, then select the relevant size, colour and packing for each product line.

Choose the Body and Its Role

Relia can discuss large perforated, small lattice and closed handled forms as distinct product lines. Start with the intended feeding or play role, then keep the relevant opening, closure or handle with the selected model rather than making one round-body size family.

Three Construction Branches

  1. Large perforatedOpening and access discussion.
  2. 14cm TPR latticeSmall open-body comparison.
  3. Closed handledHandle and body comparison.
Read the design and specification notes

Relia’s selected ball pages cover the large perforated form, the 14cm TPR lattice item and two closed handled comparisons, including model 1635. We can discuss your intended role and the chosen construction against those product identities. Keep the opening, closure or handle detail with each model: the product range’s nominal 40cm and 25cm size labels do not turn all of these bodies into one size family.

Compare the Closed Handled Form

Model 1635 has a handle and star details for a different buying direction from a perforated feeding body. Compare the complete body and grip, then confirm the component material and HDPE specification for the selected version.

Confirm the selected 1635 component material and any resin specification required for your order.

Handle and Body Choice

Handle root

Read the design and specification notes

For the handled 1635 with star details, compare the full body and grip with the intended play role. Include confirmation of the component material and HDPE specification in the quotation, then identify any additional evaluation requirements for that version.

Specify the Actual Openings

For a fillable or lattice product, describe the intended contents and locate the access, openings and any closure. A nominal body diameter does not tell you what passes through those spaces, so compare opening dimensions separately rather than promise a feeding rate.

Body and Opening Dimensions

Body size
Keep the model’s nominal size label.
Access point
Define filling or entry arrangement.
Openings
Request the relevant clear dimensions.
Read the design and specification notes

For a fillable or lattice form, describe the intended contents and request the relevant opening dimensions, access point and any closure arrangement. A 14cm size reference does not tell you what passes through the lattice. This is a product-requirement question, not a reason to promise a particular feeding rate.

Choose Colours within Each Model

Select the body first, then quote its actual colour options and quantities. The 14cm TPR model’s eight-colour list differs from the larger forms, and matching colour names across materials do not establish a matched physical shade.

The 14cm TPR model has eight named colours, while the large perforated and handled products have different lists. Select the model first, then quote the actual colour and quantity for that product. Similar Green or Blue labels across different materials do not establish a matched physical shade.

Define the TPR Retail Unit

The small lattice item lists TPR, 14cm and Opp Bag packing option. Use those as a concrete range starting point, then agree the complete supplied unit and any additional requirements instead of treating the material label as proof of bite resistance.

Include the intended use, material requirements and any bite-resistance evaluation in the selected TPR product's sample brief.

Read the design and specification notes

The small lattice reference lists TPR, 14cm and Opp Bag packing language. Use the model as a concrete small-body starting point and agree the complete supplied unit. Its material declaration does not establish bite resistance, elasticity grade or suitability for every horse; those are separate requirements if needed.

Construction and making

Compare the Relevant Junctions

In an injection-moulded lattice design, flow around openings can meet at junctions and a gate creates another finish location. A closed hollow body may use a different route. Compare the junction, opening edge or handle root that actually belongs to the selected body.

Confirm the forming route and finished junction requirements for each selected body.

Construction to Interface

  1. Lattice membersCompare junctions around openings.
  2. Opening edgeLocate access and closure details.
  3. Handled bodyCompare its own handle root.
Read the design and specification notes

Where a lattice body is injection moulded, flow around the openings creates junctions that should be considered with the opening edges. A closed hollow body can need another making route. For the selected product, agree the route and compare the relevant junctions or handle roots on the completed sample.

Define the Pack behind the Display

A group of coloured handled balls illustrates alternatives rather than a promised mixed-pack count. List the selected model, colour and quantity for each line; keep the perforated and lattice products separate if they also belong in the assortment.

Display to Pack Contents

  • Colour displayAlternative body colours.
  • Wholesale packAgreed model and colour quantities.
  • Separate linesNo assumed mix of different constructions.
Read the design and specification notes

The group of handled balls illustrates colour choices, not a promised assortment count. Specify how many of each selected model and colour belong in a retail or wholesale pack. Keep the perforated and TPR lattice lines separate if your range carries them alongside the closed handled form.
