Horse Bit Materials and Mouthpiece Construction for Buyers

Compare horse-bit quotations with the material and construction of each component clearly defined. We manufacture bits with different mouthpiece, cheek and centre arrangements, and can review your selected version or drawing. Separate the outer finish from the underlying material and solid or hollow build. That gives your team a more useful price comparison and a product description customers can understand.

Keep a Material Field for Each Component

Make each material choice useful to the comparison. Relia manufactures its own bits and checks component materials as well as the finished dimensions, appearance and assembly. Keep the mouthpiece, cheeks, centre and trim as separate fields so a change in one part does not become an unintended change to the whole product.

A component map makes the quotation easier to compare. Specify the mouthpiece, cheeks and centre individually, then identify any trim or covering. Agree the material required for each part rather than using a metallic colour or a whole-product description to stand for the complete assembly.

Mouthpiece

Material, geometry and solid, hollow or covered build.

Cheeks and rings

Material description, surface finish and dimensions.

Centre components

Decoration

Trim material, position and finish separate from the base.

Separate Hollow Construction from Outer Thickness

The product range lists both solid and sheet-hollow mouthpieces. For example, 25559-16S/70 is described as a solid mouth, while 60642-18H/70 is described as an 18 mm sheet-hollow mouth. Thickness describes the outer geometry; it does not establish the internal build or actual mass. Keep those fields separate when comparing a price tier.

Compare the Hollow Mouthpiece as a Complete Bit

Compare the 60642-18H/70 sheet-hollow mouthpiece as a complete bit, with its 18 mm section, cheeks and connections kept together. Agree the internal build in the quotation and accepted sample. A whole-product view helps your team identify the version, while the construction specification distinguishes it from a similarly shaped solid mouthpiece.

Keep Sweet Iron Wording with the Named Mouthpiece

Keep the Sweet Iron mouth of 10789LB-FD2-133WCR with its cricket-port construction when comparing that model. Specify the cheeks, centre and trim separately, then agree their component materials in the quotation. For another SI-coded configuration, confirm the actual material requirements of that assembly rather than treating a code or colour as an alloy grade.

Separate Mouthpiece Components from Trim

Copper can appear in model descriptions as a mouthpiece component, centre link, inlay, ring or decorative detail. Those locations are not interchangeable. State where the material belongs and what the model actually calls it, then agree the selected sample’s component description. A small decorative copper element does not make the complete bit a copper-mouth model.

Connect Material and Build to the Actual Process Route

Match the material and internal build to the making route before comparing the finished bits. We select the forming and connection operations appropriate to the model, with machining or welding where required, followed by polishing, the specified surface treatment and assembly.

Review the resulting mouthpiece profile, cheek openings and joints on the complete sample. Our material, dimensional, appearance and moving-part or assembly-fit checks keep those finished features connected to the chosen solid, hollow or other defined construction. Follow the material and assembly checks when defining your component brief.

Keep Current Product Appearance in Context

Keep the component material clear when selecting the sample. For BT0319’s silver-grey oval-link assembly, agree the arms, centre and cheeks individually in the quotation. For BT0532’s pale sectional construction, confirm the outer material and underlying build separately. That gives your retail team a description matched to the actual product.

Compare Price Tiers on the Same Specification

A meaningful quotation comparison keeps mouthpiece construction, cheek geometry, dimensions, finish and supplied inventory aligned. Then identify the material or fabrication change behind the price difference. Include model-specific care guidance in your retail specification instead of promising universal corrosion resistance, lifetime or horse-response benefits.

Hold steady

Complete geometry, agreed dimensions and accessory inventory.

Compare clearly

Component material, hollow/solid build and surface treatment.

Retain

Accepted sample and the same specification for repeat orders.

Start a Material Sample Discussion

Send the complete model and the component material or construction you want to compare. Include your target appearance and intended retail description so we can discuss a material-specific sample and a like-for-like quotation.

We will review the model and configuration with you before a quotation is agreed. Include quantities and destination so sample, packing and delivery terms can be considered together.
